What is A Course in Miracles (ACIM)?
ACIM is a book, dictated by Jesus to Helen Schucman, who was assisted in the transcription by William Thetford.
What is its purpose?
To return to God.
What does it postulate?
The Course summarizes it as follows:
Nothing real can be threatened,
nothing unreal exists.
In this lies the Peace of God.
What are its basic concepts?
Its basic concepts are: Reality, unreality, God, the Holy Spirit, Atonement, the ego, and perception.
How was it dictated?
Helen called it an inner dictation.
Is it necessary to do the lessons it proposes?
That varies according to your goals. If what you want is to be a teacher of God, the answer is yes.
If you simply want a different way of seeing the world and understanding why certain situations happen to you, as well as a broader perspective, and you don't intend to draw closer to God, then you don't need to take the lessons it proposes.
What is its central idea?
Atonement, God's remedy for overcoming or transcending the ego.
Who is it for?
All human beings?
What does your prosperity, relationships, or life situation depend on?
It depends on your programs, wrong decisions, lack of love that you have shown or that has been shown to you, patterns.
What is a miracle?
It is a change in your thinking induced by Jesus.
To whom is it given?
To all those who need it.
The Course says: You have a great capacity to endure pain, but it is not unlimited. A day will come when you think there is another way, another path.
And then he says: Did you think you could be wrong?
