You're always making decisions. It might not seem that way, but appearances are deceiving.
Do I get out of bed or not? Do I have breakfast or not? Do I go to work or not? Do I study now or leave it for later? What should I make for dinner? Do I buy this or not? Our life is, among other things, a continuous process of making decisions. One of the biggest problems in this world (your world) is that we almost always make bad decisions, and the consequences appear, whether we like it or not.
You can't make any kind of decision on your own, even though it might seem that way, but remember that appearances are deceiving.
We have two teachers within us: the ego and the Holy Spirit. Your decisions are based on who you listen to. If you listen to the wrong teacher, which is the ego, your ego, the decision is incorrect because the ego's premise is "seek and you won't find." If you make the decision based on the Holy Spirit, it's correct because His premise is "seek and you will find."
A mind filled with noise and thoughts cannot hear the Holy Spirit, not because His voice is weak, but because the mental noise prevents you from hearing Him. All that noise comes from the ego, the wrong teacher. What you must do is become still. Something you can say before making a decision is to repeat to yourself: "Be still and know that I Am God. You will hear the right teacher." Remember that the ego goes against all thoughts of God. Although there are certain egos we call spiritual, they are still egos and are always wrong in one way or another.
Be still and know that I Am God.
